customers like it. we feel good about our ability to be successful. >> reporter: jetblue already has six flights from dulles to boston. they will start with four daily flights here and it's expected to expand to other markets. >> thank you very much for choosing jetblue. >> reporter: at bwi, kelly swoope, abc2 news. >> kelly says you can book a $9 one-way flight to boston until midnight. airline passengers won't be the only one benefiting from jetblue at bwi marshall. the airline has also announced a new partnership and $5,000 donation to the national aquarium in baltimore. a look at tonight's top stories. a hijacking at a mexico city airport is over tonight. at least five suspects were arrested. the aeromexico flight 576 carrying 104 people on board, some of them americans, had been hijacked on the way to the capital from cancun. all the passengers and crew were released. there were reports the

hijackers were threatening to blow up the plane unless they were allowed to speak to mexico's president. no one was hurt. four men are facing charges tonight for stealing the monument dedicated to orioles hall of famer cal ripken. the huge aluminum 8 representing his number was ripped from outside of camden yards last night. surveillance cameras captured video of the men removing the 4-foot monument and placing it in the bed of a pickup truck. the suspects have been identified as 19-year-old matthew rainer and jason stone brenner. 18-year-old patrick reynolds and 19-year-old gary parker, all four face theft and vandalism charges. the monument was recovered. the federal government's fight against the swine flu is going viral. health officials are creating web casts for parents and child care providers, to be urged to reduce the spread of the virus. most people with the swine flu have a mild case and don't

neat treatment. the first 40 million doses should be ready by mid-october. new at 5:30 -- baltimore's favorite swimming superstar just signed a new deal extending his contract with speedo. phelps has endorsed the swimwear since 2001. the new contract runs through 2013. speedo will also donate $10,000 to phelps' charitable phone -- foundation for every world record he sets. phelps says he'll match each donation. speedo gave phelps a $1 million bonus for winning a record eight gold medals at the beijing olympics. maryland's most powerful doppler radar continues to track scattered showers across the region with the majority of the rainfall up to the north of us, up in the pennsylvania area, as a matter of fact, we're going to zoom into the northern sections of what we're talking about. the scattered showers we have in the region basically, well, giving us some pretty heavy rainfall across the area, over the next 36 hours more rain on

tap. the forecast for the next couple of hours -- mostly cloudy, a few showers, temperatures will be in the 70s. complete forecast coming up in a couple of minutes. governor martin o'malley is praising maryland's expanded use of dna samples as a crime-fighting tool. the new law which went into effect last year takes dna samples from people charged with a violent crime instead of only convicted felons. >> they are in a country where -- ( indiscernible ). the merger dna technology with innovative public policy and dedicated law enforcement is to take more violent criminals off our streets and do so before they can harm another human being. >> the governor says 7,800 samples have been taken since the law went into effect in january. he spoke about dna today with students at the university of baltimore's law school. today a special memorial in washington, dc to the victims of united flight 93.

speaker of the house nancy pelosi unveiling a plaque in memory of the victims at the capital today. the plane crashed in shanksville, pennsylvania, september 11th, believed when terrorists hijacked the flight they intended to crash the plane into the capitol. the plot was foiled when passengers on board rushed the cockpit. pelosi said those on board saved not only the lives of those in the capitol but saved a beacon of democracy. friends, family and colleagues gathered today to remember tv news legend walter crofn kite -- cronkite. the pioneering anchorman of the "cbs evening news" from 1962 to 1981 died in july. president obama and former president clinton attended the memorial. clinton says cronkite was a profoundly good human being. >> but in a very tumult wow summer in our personal lives,

1-1-11. carla wohl, abc news, los angeles. before we get to the weather we wanted to share this unbelievable video out of turkey. heavy rains lashed instanbul sending flash floods surging across a major highway and commercial district. witnesses say it looked like a wall of water hitting the area picking up 18-wheelers and tossing them around. wow. people don't realize the power of water. you have six inches of water on a highway that is flowing across a highway, you can float an suv with that. i mean, just blow it off the road. it's unbelievable. think about it. you go to the beach and you feel the water coming in against your ankles. then when it goes back out -- it will drag you around. but i tell you what. we've got showers in the area. nothing like what you just saw in turkey. take a look outside now. your shot from harbor cam.

thinks fred he is going to be doing. making its way into no man's land, in the middle of the atlantic. looks like it's going to become a bit stronger and then just kind of fall apart as an area of low pressure but we'll keep an eye on fred. in the meantime we're also watching this area of low pressure that is tracking along the eastern seaboard. trying to move northward but keeps running into a big block up to the north and being intensified by this area of low pressure in the upper atmosphere, back here in the ohio valley, the two combined together are going to give us pretty strong winds during the day tomorrow which is the whole reason for the gale warning along the eastern seaboard and also the heavy rain and scattered showers across the region. talking about scattered showers -- this is what maryland's most powerful doppler radar has been looking like over the past couple of hours. as you can see the heaviest rainfall now between york and harrisburg. they had pretty good rainfall in cecil county and harford county. also northern baltimore county. more scattered showers are heading in our direction. again, it will be widely scattered across the region. tomorrow the rainfall will be more general across our area and don't forget, you can always go to the web site,
